GERMAN SNOW-BOARDING: In a Search for What Makes a Jump Perfect

What makes an athlete to win? The best performance is usually decided with time, length or other easily countable measurements.

But in sports like snowboarding, it's hard to say what exactly makes a jump good. A team of German sports scientists have decided to take a challenge to understand what happens when the rider takes off.

We followed the team to the Swiss Alps, where they collected data with elite halfpipe snowboarders.
